WORKSHOP TOPICS:

Balancing Your Hormones: Balancing Your Life
Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone and thyroid are four very powerful hormones that have a wide ranging effect on reproduction, menopause, blood pressure, weight loss, healthy sexual function, bone loss and many other essential functions of life. This workshop will explore how to safely balance these hormones using holistic, sustainable and natural methods.  Learn about bio-identical hormones, “good estrogen and bad estrogen”, the effects of estrogen dominance, soy and other plant based estrogens and environmental factors that affect proper hormones balance. Come and learn about various strategies to help resolve issues of menopause, PCOS, uterine fibroids, low thyroid function and adrenal fatigue. There will also be a discussion about improving hormone safety in relationship to breast cancer.

Systemic Enzymes, A Pathway to Health
Enzyme Nutrition is the process through which we can begin restoring a compromised digestive system.  It can help reverse the tide of both digestive and metabolic dysfunctions which cause the body to overcompensate for a weaken immune system, digestive disorders and environmental insults.

Inflammation results when your body’s has lost its ability to compensate and can no longer respond to stress. The body’s tissues are not receiving the nutrition they need to heal. What you eat is important, but it’s what happens to food after you eat is even more important. If your body can’t absorb your food’s essential nutrients because of a compromised digestive system, you can eat the healthiest diet imaginable and still not receive adequate nutrition to keep your body healthy.
This work shop will explore basic functions of systemic enzymes and how to they can be used to help restore the health and vitality for most of our bodies functions. Systemic enzymes are those that operate not just for digestion but throughout your body in every system and organ.  Come and explore how these enzymes can be used to resolve most inflammatory conditions such as, inflammatory bowel disorders, chronic pain, skin problems, sinus conditions, acid reflux, allergies, and asthma and eliminations problems.

Weight Loss Tool Box
Many of us are challenged when it comes to ones weight. Diets are often punitive and always lead to chasing hunger. There are many things that influence weight loss besides food choices. They include hormones, thyroid health and lifestyle. A healthy body will achieve a healthy weight. This class will provide the information you need to find a sustainable eating lifestyle that is right for you. It will also cover information on improving food absorption, the influence of hormones on weight loss, the difference between good fats and fats, the difference between plant and animal protein and the importance of balancing your pH.

Acupuncture, A bridge between the Ancient & Moderns Worlds
Although acupuncture has moved more into the main stream, little is known about the extent of its capabilities and how it actual works. This workshop offers an intimate and direct experience of how acupuncture works to promote and influence the healing processes of the human body.  It will provide a modern context to ancient ideas and concepts.   Come and explore how an extremely thin piece of metal (an acupuncture needle) can have such a profound affect on resolving complex patterns of chronic discomfort and disease.

Acupuncture is over 5000 years old. It offers a unique model of how the human body works. This model is based on the how the influences of ones life (such as stress, anger or grief) interact at the physical level of the human body.  Acupuncture is affective not only in pain management, but also in helping to resolve autoimmune diseases, gynecological problems, infertility, anxiety and depression as well as in weight loss and smoking cessation. You will leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of acupuncture and its profound effective on the human condition.

Resolving Allergies, Food Sensitivities & Gluten Intolerance
The number of adults and children with allergies, food sensitivities and gluten intolerance continues to increase. Undiagnosed, gluten intolerance can give rise to depression, eczema, joint pain, gastro intestinal problems, and low levels of iron in the blood. People are not born with allergies and gluten intolerance, most often they are acquired. The first step to resolving these conditions is to heal the digestive system.

Over half of our body’s immune system lives in our digestive tract. A healthy digestive system is essential to maintaining a state of balance and health. Problems like inflammatory bowel disease, skin problems, sinus conditions, acid reflux, and asthma are directly influenced by a comprised digestive system and are often linked to allergies and gluten intolerance. This workshop will explore the basic strategies of healing our digestive and immune systems. Topics of discussion will include the use of digestive enzymes, elimination diets, probiotics, essential fatty acids, vitamin D as well as methods of testing for allergies and gluten intolerance.
