60% of symptoms do not affect the digestive system
Gluten Intolerance can cause abdominal pain, gas, bloating, and diarrhea. The symptoms are uncomfortable but don’t usually last very long. Gluten intolerance is a food allergy and does not cause damage – unless you have celiac disease, although some people can experience severe inflammation.
Digestion & Nutrition – Gluten Information
Gluten sensitivity encompasses a collection of medical conditions in which gluten has an adverse effect of the body.
Gluten Intolerance: intolerance to the protein gluten or gleatin found in wheat, rye, barley, and not in other grain-based products.
Celiac Disease: an extreme sensitivity to gluten & gleatin that elicits a strong immune response from the body. Celiac Disease is an inherited autoimmune disorder and the intense inflammation it causes can damage the small intestine.
Celiac disease occurs in the minority of people who are gluten intolerant. However, a negative test for Celiac disease does NOT necessarily mean you can tolerate gluten.
Gluten is found in all forms of wheat, barley, and rye:
- Oats because of milling contamination problems
60% of people don’t show digestive symptoms like diarrhea or constipation, their gluten intolerance could manifest as:
- Auto immune disorders

- Pre-osteoporosis bone problems
- Numbness or tingling in extremities and other neurological problems

5 to 10% of people have a gene marker for celiac disease. Celiac disease is a permanent intolerance to Gluten.
